The Masters

A beautiful day in The Texas Piney woods today. Cool, dry, sunny, slight breeze,...ahhh, nice. It looked pretty nice at The Masters Golf Tournament replay last night, although a bit damp. I quit playing golf over 20 years ago (12 step program) but I find the major tournaments to be fun to watch on television, The Masters being my favorite. Augusta is a beautiful place and the nature of the game, along with the, mostly, gentlemanly conduct of the players relaxes me. I see an update on my computer that shows beautiful weather for the golfers today. It was great to see Freddy Couples and Tom Watson at the top of the leader board last night. I am not sure they will be able to mainatain those spots by Sunday afternoon but they have both been favorites of mine over the years.

Dinner last night was lentil, chicken, & brown rice soup with a tossed green salad with sesame dressing. More health food and small portions keeps the weight going down.

Tonight will be chicken tikka with brown rice, less the Ghee, of course and salad. Because it is Friday, I get to have a cocktail. My drink of choice tonight will be the "Standard, Dry Martini", as Mr. Churchill prescribed, six parts Beefeater Gin to one part Dry Vermouth, shaken, with very dry ice cubes, 50 times to ensure an absolutely cold drink, served, up, in a chilled Marini glass, with a pimentto stuffed giant olive. I do believe Mr. Churchill's choice of Gin was Plymouth, which is very good, but difficult to find out in the country so I find Beefeater to be a good choice.(FYI: For the traditional Gin & Tonic, Tanqueray is the spirit of choice.)
Since I do limit Martini consumption to only one, it needs to be perfect and The Princess has it down. As five PM approaches it must be time to shut down the office and make the commute (100 feet) to the cabin. Until a later date.....
